RESISTORS

High Resistance Neutral Grounding Device

High-resistance grounding systems used where phase-to-ground fault current is intentionally limited to only a few amperes while continuity of operation is maintained.

TECHNICAL OVERVIEW

Purpose and operating principle.

High Resistance Grounding systems place a high resistance between the neutral point of a transformer or generator and ground. In delta systems an artificial neutral point can be created, allowing low fault current and easier fault location.

SYSTEM VOLTAGE

240–5000 V

FAULT CURRENT

Typically 2–10 A

AMMETER

0–10 A

VOLTMETER

0–250 V

KEY FEATURES

Project-relevant characteristics and selection points.

Supports continued operation during a ground-fault condition while maintaining enough current for fault location.

Automatic door switch for power shutdown.

Test button for fault indication.

Green indication for normal conditions.

Intermittent alarm and red indication during ground fault.

Pulse/Normal selector and auxiliary contacts for fault signaling.

RESISTOR SYSTEMS

Electrical and thermal duty define the final resistor configuration.

LMZ resistor systems are selected around the network, current, voltage, thermal duty, operating cycle and environmental requirements of the application.
